Lyons Creek Dental Care Supports Musicians’ Health at Inaugural SMASH Seattle Dental Clinic

At Lyons Creek Dental Care, we believe in the power of giving back to our community. That’s why we were thrilled to participate in the inaugural SMASH Seattle Member Dental Clinic in March. This nonprofit clinic aims to provide low-cost dental care to musicians in Seattle, and we were honored to be a part of this important initiative.

Dental Clinic Outcomes

We’re excited to share the outcomes of the SMASH Seattle Member Dental Clinic:

  • 29 SMASH Members attended our first-ever Dental Clinic.
  • All members received fully comprehensive exams, including x-rays, photographs, gum disease screenings, and cancer screenings.
  • 20 members received standard cleanings, while 4 members received deep cleanings.
  • 4 members were fitted for night guards.
  • 2 members underwent surgery with next steps planned for replacing missing teeth.
  • 1 member received immediate fillings to address decay and prevent further damage.

Following the clinic, members are being scheduled for follow-up and maintenance care with our growing team of SMASH dental professionals and clinics.

Gratitude and Appreciation

We want to extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who made this clinic possible:

  • Mondie Peterson, Kalena Tadio, and Lorinda Sorci from Lyons Creek Dental Care.
  • Dr. Kyle Beffa and Lindsey Popich of Beffa Dental.
  • Dr. Brendan Lopez
  • Our dedicated team of hygienists – Angie Wilson, Tazlyn Gue, and Cortney Irgens.
  • Our support volunteers – Jena Rockwood, Adriana Gomez-Weston, and Carey Rayburn.

We also want to thank our community for their support in providing free dental care for local musicians. Your generosity makes a meaningful difference in the lives of those who truly need it.

Here’s what some of who attended the clinic had to say about their experience:

  • “I’m feeling so grateful to have been able to be here. My teeth are so much cleaner, and I have a plan for keeping on track with keeping them healthy. I hadn’t seen a dentist in over two years, so thank you.”
  • “Everyone today was so incredibly kind and helpful – Taz was amazing and went way out of her way to get me in good shape! I am so grateful and so highly recommend!”
  • “Finding accessible healthcare is difficult and stressful, and having people like these folks on your side makes it feel less doomy. 🙂 The dentist can be a stressful moment, but everyone here was so nice and welcoming, and were checking in on how I was doing the whole time which put my mind at ease. Thank you!”
